VIAJES CRONICAS ARTE

En febrero del 2023 mientras caminaba por el barrio de Palermo encontré pintados los rostros de tres mujeres en las paredes de una casa. La imagen con sus colores intensos se complementaban con las plantas que asomaban desde el jardín recreando una escena selvática perfecta. Sólo puedo decir que fue amor a primera vista 😍

In February 2023 while walking through the neighborhood of Palermo I found the faces of three women painted on the walls of a house. The image with its intense colors were complemented by the plants that peeked out from the garden recreating a perfect jungle scene. I can only say that it was love at first sight 😍.

Tomé una foto del mural y otra del nombre de la artista https://www.instagram.com/mabelvicentef/ con la intención de invitarla a participar en Amigas y Amigos Artistas. 

Sin embargo el tiempo pasó y no lo hice 😦 ; pero hace unos meses, mientras trabajaba con el material de POGO Producciones https://www.instagram.com/pogo.producciones/ los murales de Mabel Vicentef volvieron a materializarse frente a mis ojos y esta vez sí me puse en contacto con ella 🙂

I took a photo of the mural and another of the artist’s name https://www.instagram.com/mabelvicentef/ with the idea of inviting her to participate in Artistic Friends.

However, time passed and I didn’t do it 😦 ; but a few months ago, while I was working with the material of POGO Producciones https://www.instagram.com/pogo.producciones/ the murals of Mabel Vicentef materialized again in front of my eyes and this time I contacted her 🙂

Los murales que encontré entre el material de POGO fueron los que pintó en el Barrio Mugica en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. Mabel (María Belén Vicente) me comentó que además pintó otro para una campaña de concientización sobre el cáncer de mama.

The murals I found in POGO’s material were the ones he painted in Barrio Mugica in the city of Buenos Aires. Mabel (María Belén Vicente) told me that she also painted another one for a breast cancer awareness campaign.

Al preguntarle sobre la experiencia y sensaciones que tuvo al pintar en el Barrio Mugica, Mabel dice que disfrutó enormemente gracias a la cálida recepción de las y los vecinos. Estos expresaban a diario su aprecio por el trabajo de los artistas, quienes embellecían, llenaban de color y mejoraban tanto sus casas como el barrio en general.

Me contó que en la foto donde aparece sentada mientras pinta, se encontraba embarazada de 8 meses y se ríe al recordar esa anécdota.

When asked about the experience and sensations she had while painting in Barrio Mugica, Mabel says that she enjoyed it enormously thanks to the warm reception from the neighbors. They expressed daily their appreciation for the work of the artists, who were beautifying, coloring and improving both their homes and the neighborhood in general.

She told me that in the photo where she is sitting while painting, she was 8 months pregnant and laughs at the memory of this story.

Pero su interés siempre estuvo en pintar paredes, en el arte urbano actividad no tan común, al menos en Argentina, hace quince años atrás.

Su espíritu aventurero la llevó a sumarse siendo muy joven al movimiento Italo Grassi (grupo inspirado en los muralistas mexicanos) con quienes viajó por diferentes provincias de Argentina.  Y de esa experiencia surgió su primer mural en Cosquín: Un tributo a los pueblos originarios

But his interest was always in painting walls, in urban art, an activity not so common, at least in Argentina, fifteen years ago.

Her adventurous spirit led her to join the Italo Grassi movement (a group inspired by Mexican muralists) at a very young age, with whom she traveled through different provinces of Argentina. And from that experience came her first mural in Cosquín: A tribute to the native peoples.

Mabel fue invitada a participar en festivales por diversos países como Portugal, Albania, Estados Unidos, Nueva Zelanda, España y Uruguay como también en ciudades de Argentina como Santa Fe, Bariloche, Rosario y diferentes barrios en Buenos Aires.

Mabel was invited to participate in festivals in different countries such as Portugal, Albania, United States, New Zealand, Spain and Uruguay as well as in cities of Argentina such as Santa Fe, Bariloche, Rosario and different neighborhoods in Buenos Aires.

Y muchos de sus murales tienen temáticas relacionadas con la naturaleza y con figuras femeninas.

And many of her murals have themes related to nature and female figures.

Mabel se encuentra trabajando en un proyecto en el Ecoparque de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires y un mural en la Plaza Vicente López para el proyecto #viviarte

Mabel is currently working on a project in the Ecoparque de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires and a mural in Plaza Vicente López for the #viviarte project.

Además Mabel trabaja en su taller pintando cuadros en óleo, dibujando y haciendo arte digital; aunque su verdadera pasión, me confiesa, está en el street art.

Mabel also works in her studio painting oil paintings, drawing and making digital art; although her true passion, she confesses to me, is in street art.

Como habrás visto el mural pintado por Mabel es bellísimo y quiero compartir además las palabras con las que Sandra https://www.instagram.com/una_podadora_inexperta/ lo acompañó en uno de sus posteos en Instagram.

La muralista se presenta con un nombre que resulta de sus nombres de pila y apellido, ella le dio un nombre al mural de mi patio.

¿Cómo lo hubiera nombrado yo si se me hubiera ocurrido que tenía que llevar un nombre esa valija abierta en mi patio?
A partir de esta idea, quién sabe, intente construir una historia

The muralist introduces herself with a name that results from her first and last names, she gave a name to the mural in my courtyard.

What would I have named it if it had occurred to me that the open suitcase in my patio should have a name?
From this idea, who knows, try to build a story.
