En abril del 2024 Patricia Valli https://www.instagram.com/patrivalli/, una de mis Amigas Artistas, me invitó a la muestra Reparo en la belleza del colectivo Devoto al Arte https://www.instagram.com/devotoalarte/ en el Palacio de la Legislatura Porteña, un edificio que en sí mismo es una obra de arte. 

In April 2024 Patricia Valli https://www.instagram.com/patrivalli/, one of my Artist Friends, invited me to the exhibition Reparo en la belleza (Notice the beauty) of the collective Devoto al Arte https://www.instagram.com/devotoalarte/ at the Palacio de la Legislatura Porteña, a building that in itself is a work of art.

Patricia Valli es la fundadora del proyecto Devoto al Arte al que se sumaron de forma inmediata Adriana Capisciolto https://www.instagram.com/capiscioltoadriana/, Silvana Cavadini https://www.instagram.com/silvanacavadini/, Andrea Coco https://www.instagram.com/andreacocoav/, Marina Lobato https://www.instagram.com/marinalobato_artesvisuales/ y Roberto Celestino https://www.instagram.com/robertopablocelestino/. Luego la convocatoria fue exponencial y artistas de diferentes barrios se fueron sumando al proyecto.

Then the call for artists from different neighborhoods was exponential and artists from different areas joined in.

Esa tarde de abril, cuando me acerqué al Palacio de la Legislatura Porteña, además de admirar la exhibición de Reparo en la Belleza, tuve la oportunidad de conversar con algunas artistas presentes. Hablaron sobre sus obras, procesos creativos y proyectos futuros, lo cual enriqueció la experiencia.

Reparo en la belleza es una muestra que aborda el tema de la Belleza como concepto cultural, inclusivo y estético y que volverá a presentarse en octubre del 2024 en la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Buenos Aires.

That April afternoon, when I went to the Palacio de la Legislatura Porteña, in addition to admiring the exhibition of Reparo en la Belleza (Notice the beauty), I had the opportunity to talk with some of the artists present. They talked about their works, creative processes and future projects, which enriched the experience.

Reparo en la belleza is an exhibition that approaches the theme of Beauty as a cultural, inclusive and aesthetic concept and will be presented again in October 2024 at the Facultad de Derecho (Law School) of the University of Buenos Aires.

En diciembre del 2023, Devoto al Arte realizó un festival artístico de cierre del año en la calles Habana y Joaquín V González en conjunto con  la Asociación de Fomento de Villa Devoto https://www.instagram.com/asociaciondefomentovilladevoto/ donde pude ver la movida cultural de este barrio con tanta historia.

In December 2023, Devoto al Arte held a year-end art festival on Habana and Joaquín V González streets in conjunction with the Asociación de Fomento de Villa Devoto https://www.instagram.com/asociaciondefomentovilladevoto/ where I was able to see the cultural movement of this neighborhood with so much history.

Patricia Valli me cuenta que
Devoto al arte es un movimiento de artistas independientes (MAI) cuya meta es visibilizar las artes en los barrios.

Sus integrantes abordan diferentes disciplinas tales como artes visuales, música, mosaiquismo, cerámica, diseño textil, arte bordado, vitrofusión y diseño de joyas.

Patricia Valli told me that
Devoto al arte is a movement of independent artists (MAI) whose goal is to make the arts visible in the neighborhoods.

Its members work in different disciplines such as visual arts, music, mosaics, ceramics, textile design, embroidery, glass fusing and jewelry design.

Los propósitos del MAI son
-Difundir las artes en contextos públicos vecinales.
-Promover recorridos artísticos y culturales.
-Visibilizar la tarea creativa de los artistas.
-Embellecer los espacios públicos.

The purposes of MAI are
-Spread the arts in neighborhood public contexts.
-Promote artistic and cultural tours.
-To make the creative work of artists visible.
-To embellish public spaces.

A continuación comparto el texto curatorial de la muestra Reparo en la belleza que se realizó en la sala de exposiciones Manuel Belgrano de la Legislatura Porteña.

Below I share the curatorial text of the exhibition Reparo en la belleza that took place at the Manuel Belgrano exhibition hall of the Legislatura Porteña

“Reparo en la belleza” es la búsqueda entre los pliegues de la magia de lo cotidiano como aprendizaje, ejercicio y necesidad. Quizá un modo de vivir.
Reparar el instante que se revela en lo esencial de una mirada, un gesto, un sonido, un andar en cualquier rincón del universo que nos rodea. Aún en la noche, con ojos cerrados, sentir la belleza es inspiración.
Así el arte en toda su dimensión es generador de belleza en aquello que vivimos, reflexionamos y sentimos».

“Reparo en la belleza” is the search among the folds of the magic of everyday life as learning, exercise and necessity. Perhaps a way of living.

To repair the instant that is revealed in the essence of a look, a gesture, a sound, a walk in any corner of the universe that surrounds us. Even at night, with closed eyes, to feel beauty is inspiration.
Art in all its dimension is a generator of beauty in what we live, reflect and feel«.

«La belleza no es inherente a ningún objeto, mensaje, imagen, palabra o obra en sí misma. La verdadera BELLEZA reside en la POÉTICA que surge cuando nuestra humanidad se encuentra con algo que nos conmueve profundamente, despierta nuestras emociones más diversas y nos hace sentir vivos».

«Beauty is not inherent to any object, message, image, word or work in itself. True BEAUTY resides in the POETRY that arises when our humanity encounters something that moves us deeply, awakens our most diverse emotions and makes us feel alive».

«Es en ese encuentro íntimo y personal donde la belleza se manifiesta en su plenitud, trascendiendo lo meramente estético o superficial para convertirse en una experiencia profundamente significativa y transformadora.
La belleza entonces se despliega sobre un lienzo para que ella perdure eternamente y regale a otras subjetividades un lugar de reparo y emoción».

«It is in this intimate and personal encounter where beauty manifests itself in its fullness, transcending the merely aesthetic or superficial to become a deeply meaningful and transformative experience.
Beauty then unfolds on a canvas so that it may last eternally and give other subjectivities a place of comfort and emotion».

«Somos Devoto al Arte, un movimiento de artistas independientes que tenemos como meta visibilizar nuestras artes en los barrios de nuestra ciudad llevando reparo para una mejor humanidad».
