Hold the presses! I ask for a minute!!!! What I wrote in that first paragraph is true but if I introduced you to Papel Limón in such a formal way I would be losing the essence of the publishing house and especially the playful spirit of her creator 😀.

Gigi tiene muchas ideas relacionadas con el arte y el papel, y lo mejor de todo, es que las concreta a través de productos tales como rompecabezas o láminas para pintar que tienen la particularidad de ser aptos para público adulto con ganas de volver a aquellos años donde jugar, pintar o dibujar se nos daba con total naturalidad. Sirven obviamente para niñas y niños 😉 , eso si, pediles permiso si te entusiasmas y te dan ganas de pintar 😀 

Gigi has many ideas related to art and paper, and best of all, she makes them come true through products such as puzzles or sheets to paint that have the particularity of being suitable for adults who want to go back to those years where playing, painting or drawing came naturally to us. They are obviously good for girls and boys 😉 But ask for permission if you are enthusiastic and feel like painting 😀.

Algo que me llamó la atención, además de la bella idea, fue el compromiso de Gigi con el proyecto, en el cual trabajó codo a codo con Carla haciendo sugerencias tales como códigos QR para que ese libro fuese interactivo, como así también ejercicios para poder escribir en él y no sólo hacer los clásicos subrayados.

Gigi da soporte y despliegue a la creatividad de las autoras. Y supongo que fue por eso que Carla volvió a elegirla para su segunda Bitácora de Inspiración, ilustrado esta vez por Flor https://www.instagram.com/estudiohanna/

I learned about Papel Limón through their books Bitácora de Inspiración by Carla Bonomini https://www.instagram.com/minicarbono/ creative entrepreneur and founder of the community https://www.instagram.com/labaumhaus/. Something that caught my attention, besides the beautiful idea, was Gigi’s commitment to the project, in which she worked side by side with Carla making suggestions such as QR codes to make the book interactive, as well as exercises to be able to write in it and not just do the classic underlining.

Gigi gives support and unfolds the creativity of the authors. And I guess that’s why Carla chose her again for her second Bitácora de Inspiración, illustrated this time by Flor https://www.instagram.com/estudiohanna/.

En el Instagram de Papel Limón https://www.instagram.com/papellimon/ encontré videos realizados con una modalidad fresca, sin poses, de esas que te hacen sonreír y querer ponerte en acción; donde Gigi te invita a que te sumes a alguno de sus proyectos de mentoría o a acompañarla a alguno de sus juegos.

Uno de los últimos fue prestar atención a tu alrededor, sin importar dónde estuvieras y encontrar el color amarillo. Una simple manera de estar presente, algo que muchas veces nos cuesta bastante hacer.

One of the last ones was to pay attention to your surroundings, no matter where you were and find the color yellow. A simple way to be present, something we often have a hard time doing.

Su último trabajo editorial fue el libro Emigrar hacia adentro de Monserrat Gamboa https://www.instagram.com/monsiwrites/ con ilustraciones de Lucy Piazza https://www.instagram.com/lucypiazza/ que trata el tema de la emigración y las experiencias de aprendizaje y transformación que conlleva vivir en otro lugar; una temática que, en mi caso, resuena de manera especial.

Her latest publishing work was the book Emigrar hacia adentro by Monserrat Gamboa https://www.instagram.com/monsiwrites/ with illustrations by Lucy Piazza https://www.instagram.com/lucypiazza/ which deals with the subject of emigration and the experiences of learning and transformation that come with living in another place; a subject that, in my case, resonates in a special way.

Otro proyecto que tiene entre manos es Brote libro infantil, inspirado en el libro brasileño Brotou.

«El libro nos cuenta la historia de una semillita de papaya que nos enseña el ciclo de la vida y nos invita a conversar sobre las emociones propias y ajenas, además de concientizar sobre los procesos de la transformación en la vida y promover el cuidado del medioambiente».

Another project she is working on is Brote, a children’s book inspired by the Brazilian book Brotou.

«The book tells the story of a papaya seed that teaches us about the cycle of life and invites us to talk about our own and other people’s emotions, in addition to raising awareness about the processes of transformation in life and promoting environmental care«.

Si bien Papel Limón nació hace cuatro años con proyectos de mentorías, acompañamiento en la preparación de libros, y en algunos casos su publicación, el trabajo de Gigi comenzó hace once, también en el área creativa pero con otro tipo de productos como cuadernos de viaje personalizados.

Esos cuadernos, hechos uno por uno a mano, incluían nombres, fotos y una gran cantidad de detalles, por lo que podrían considerarse piezas de arte únicas.

Although Papel Limón was born four years ago with mentoring projects, support in the preparation of books, and in some cases their publication, Gigi’s work began eleven years ago, also in the creative area but with other types of products such as personalized travel notebooks.

Those notebooks, made one by one by hand, included names, photos and a great amount of details, so they could be considered unique pieces of art.

Más tarde apareció una nueva idea: el proyecto Apolo un cuaderno viajero que acompañaba a diferentes personas que iban dejando sus huellas a través de palabras, fotos, tickets o lo que se les ocurriera contando la experiencias vividas en los lugares visitados.

Todas estas actividades evolucionaron, se transformaron y en la actualidad están reflejadas en cada producto que Gigi desarrolla porque si algo se mantiene como constante, y se agradece, son las ganas que ella tiene de JUGAR y de invitarnos a que también pongamos manos a la obra y volvamos a buscar, en mi caso, a la niña interior.

Later a new idea popped up: the Apolo project, a traveler’s notebook that accompanied different people who would leave their impressions through words, photos, tickets or whatever they could think of, recounting their experiences in the places they visited.

All these activities evolved, transformed and are currently reflected in every product that Gigi develops because if something remains constant, and it is appreciated, it is the desire she has to PLAY and to invite us to also get down to work and return to search the inner child.
