A few days ago, we visited Manzanita, one of the most beautiful beaches on the Oregon coast. From previous trips, I remembered the Cloud & Leaf Bookstore https://www.instagram.com/cloudandleafbookstore/in its small but cozy downtown area, which also has art galleries, owner-operated businesses, cool clothing stores, cafes, restaurants, and wine bars.

Hace unos días visitamos Manzanita, una de las playas más lindas de la costa de Oregon. De viajes anteriores recordaba a la librería Cloud & Leaf Bookstore https://www.instagram.com/cloudandleafbookstore/ en su pequeño pero acogedor centro que además cuenta con galerías de arte, negocios atendidos por sus dueños, tiendas de ropa con mucha onda, cafés, restaurantes y bares de vinos.

I was surprised to discover that the bookstore had moved to a new space—more spacious, bright, and comfortable—without losing any of the warm spirit that had characterized it since its inception. Jody, who welcomed me cordially, told me that Cloud & Leaf was founded in 2004 and has been operating in this new location since October 2024.

Me sorprendió descubrir que la librería se mudó a un nuevo espacio; más amplio, luminoso y cómodo; sin perder ni un poco del espíritu cálido que la caracterizó desde sus inicios. Jody, quien me recibió de manera cordial, me contó que Cloud & Leaf fue fundada en 2004 y que desde octubre de 2024 funciona en esta nueva ubicación.

The store is decorated with objects that you will fall in love with: old typewriters, corners that seem ready for writing, and well-arranged shelves so that you can lose yourself among the books without rushing, at the pace of this small city.

El local está decorado con objetos que enamoran: antiguas máquinas de escribir, rincones que parecen listos para ponerse a escribir y estanterías bien dispuestas para que uno pueda perderse entre libros sin apuro, al ritmo de esta pequeña ciudad.

The selection is varied and carefully curated by the writer and editor Holly Lörincz. There are titles for all ages and tastes, from contemporary fiction to poetry, essays, history, nature, and cooking, and a special section of recommendations made by the bookstore’s own team.

The bookstore also opens its doors to the community with author readings and book presentations.

La selección es variada y curada por la escritora y editora Holly Lörincz . Es posible encontrar títulos para todas las edades y gustos desde ficción contemporánea hasta poesía, ensayo, historia, naturaleza o cocina y una sección especial de recomendaciones hechas por el propio equipo de la librería.

La librería además se abre a la comunidad con lecturas de autores y presentaciones de libros.

I loved their motto: We believe in the printed page, a declaration of love for paper and reading as a tangible experience, with a book to mark and fill with notes.

In addition to books, Cloud & Leaf also offers postcards, notebooks, journals, and artwork: paintings, illustrations, and objects that stimulate creativity.

Me encantó su lema: We believe in the printed page (Creemos en la pagina impresa), toda una declaración de amor al papel y a la lectura como experiencia tangible, con un libro para marcar y llenarlo de anotaciones.

Además de libros, en Cloud & Leaf también podés encontrar postales, cuadernos, journals y obras de arte: pinturas, ilustraciones, objetos estimulan la creatividad.
