I came to PiPH Paper Epiphanies https://www.instagram.com/paperepiphanies/ a stationery store located at 2501 SE Clinton Street in Portland, in early August when Stationery Store Day https://www.instagram.com/stationerystoreday/ was held.

The store is located on a corner, where a mural decorates one of its side walls, large windows painted by the artist Jenna Lechner https://www.instagram.com/jennamlechner/ with rainbow pencils that invite you to want to look out and to complete two tables with pink painted benches located on the street. These details create a friendly, communal atmosphere before you even walk through the door.

El local se encuentra en una esquina, donde se destaca un mural que adorna una de sus paredes laterales, grandes vidrieras decoradas por la artista Jenna Lechner https://www.instagram.com/jennamlechner/ con lápices en tonos del arcoíris que invitan a querer asomarse y para completar dos mesas con bancos pintados de color rosa ubicadas en la calle. Estos detalles crean un ambiente amigable y comunitario desde antes de cruzar su puerta.

Once inside, I was surprised by the minimalist style and the elegant lighting of the place where a large shelf with the cards they produce, which are designed entirely by women artists and where both BIPOC and LGBTQI+ artists and creators are represented.

There is a special care in the choice of products that you will find in this store that are manufactured by them or acquired from brands belonging to women who are also aligned with their values.

Una vez dentro, me sorprendió el estilo minimalista y la cuidadosa iluminación del local donde destaca una gran estantería con las tarjetas que producen y que están diseñadas íntegramente por mujeres artistas y donde además están representados artistas y creadores tanto BIPOC como LGBTQI+

Hay un cuidado especial en la elección de los productos que vas a encontrar en esta tienda que son fabricados por ellos o adquiridos a marcas pertenecientes a mujeres que además están alineadas con sus valores.

Anyway, my eyes went quickly to the two beauties on one side of the shop: Vickie Sparkles and Lilly B the two Heildelberg Windmill presses with which they print their products 😍😍

This artisanal process is part of PiPH‘s charm: by merging the tradition of printing with antique machines with modern design, we find that each card displayed on its shelves has a different meaning because we know where it was made.

De cualquier forma mis ojos se fueron rápidamente hacia las dos bellezas que están en uno de los laterales del local: Vickie Sparkles y Lilly B las dos prensas Heildelberg Windmill con las que imprimen sus productos 😍😍

Este proceso artesanal es parte del encanto de PiPH: al fusionar la tradición de la impresión con máquinas antiguas junto con el diseño moderno nos encontramos con que cada tarjeta expuesta en sus estanterías tienen un significado distinto porque sabemos dónde fueron hechas.

PiPH Paper Ephimeries was founded by Victoria Venturi in 2014 in Santa Monica, California. To the delight of those of us who live in the PNW since 2016 this store relocated to Portland and from that point on it just kept growing.

Just a month ago, taking advantage of the renovation of the Portland International Airport https://www.instagram.com/pdxairport/, PiPH opened a new store there. A great opportunity for more people to get to know this place and its products
