Café Rivarola https://www.instagram.com/caferivarola/ abrió sus puertas el 27 de noviembre del 2023 en el emblemático Pasaje Rivarola de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires.

Café Rivarola https://www.instagram.com/caferivarola/ opened its doors on November 27, 2023 in the emblematic Pasaje Rivarola in the City of Buenos Aires.

Con su arquitectura en espejo y su aire parisino el Pasaje Rivarola es una joya de la ciudad. Fue diseñado hace cien años por los arquitectos Peterson, Thiele y Cruz y conecta las calles Mitre y Perón en el barrio de San Nicolás.

The Pasaje Rivarola with its mirrored architecture and Parisian air, is a jewel of the city. It was designed a hundred years ago by architects Peterson, Thiele and Cruz and connects Mitre and Perón streets in the San Nicolás neighborhood.

La historia del Café Rivarola comenzó unos años atrás, cuando Gabriela y Christian, desde lo alto del Palacio Barolo https://www.instagram.com/palaciobarolo/ vieron cuatro cúpulas que captaron su atención. Motivados por la curiosidad, exploraron el lugar y fue así que descubrieron el Pasaje Rivarola.

Fue amor a primera vista y aunque sus profesiones no estaban relacionadas con el mundo gastronómico, la idea romántica de abrir un café con estilo parisino en ese rincón mágico de la ciudad empezó a tomar forma. Lo más inspirador es que convirtieron ese sueño en realidad.

The history of Café Rivarola started a few years ago, when Gabriela and Christian, from the top of the Palacio Barolo https://www.instagram.com/palaciobarolo/ noticed four domes that caught their attention. Motivated by curiosity, they explored the place and that is how they discovered the Pasaje Rivarola.

It was love at first sight and although their professions were not related to culinary arts, the romantic idea of opening a Parisian-style café in that magical corner of the city began to grow. The most inspiring thing is that they made that dream come true.

Café Rivarola combina amplitud con calidez. Su barra azul, diseñada por Gabriela, es el corazón del lugar, exhibiendo delicias tentadoras. Sus paredes adornadas con cuadros de diferentes artistas, le dan un toque especial al lugar.

Café Rivarola combines space with warmth. Its blue bar, designed by Gabriela, is the heart of the place, displaying tempting delicacies. Its walls adorned with paintings by different artists, give a special touch to the place.

Gabriela recuerda que cuando tomaron la decisión de abrir el café el lugar estaba desocupado y en estado de abandono. El desafío fue enorme, pero con mucho esfuerzo lograron restaurarlo.

Poco a poco, comenzaron a definir el estilo del lugar, incorporando detalles decorativos creando un ambiente cálido y acogedor.

Para Gabriela uno de los recuerdos más valiosos está relacionado con quien fuera dueña del lugar, una señora que siempre soñó con que ese espacio se transformara en algo especial. Hoy, ese sueño se ha convertido en realidad gracias a la pasión y dedicación de Gabriela y Christian junto con su equipo de trabajo.

Gabriela recalls that when they decided to open the café, the place was vacant and in an abandoned state. The challenge was huge, but with a lot of effort they managed to restore it.

Little by little, they began to define the style of the place, incorporating decorative details to create a welcoming and cozy atmosphere.

For Gabriela, one of the most valuable memories is related to the owner of the place, a lady who always dreamed of transforming this space into something special. Today, that dream has become a reality thanks to the passion and dedication of Gabriela and Christian along with their work team.

Café Rivarola abre de lunes a viernes de 8 a 18.30 hs. Su menú ofrece desayunos, almuerzos y meriendas en un ambiente ideal para reuniones de trabajo o encuentros tranquilos, tanto dentro del local, en el patio o en las mesas de su vereda.

Café Rivarola is open from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6.30 pm. Its menu offers breakfasts, lunches and snacks in an ideal environment for business meetings or quiet gatherings, either inside the premises, on the patio or at the tables on the sidewalk.

Café Rivarola es además un espacio donde se desarrollan diversas actividades culturales.

En diciembre del 2023 participaron junto con la librería Asunto Impreso https://www.instagram.com/asuntoimpreso/ de la presentación del libro «El arte está en casa» de Mariela Ivanier https://www.instagram.com/marielaivanier/ acompañada con la muestra «La escritura imposible» del artista Alexis Yebra https://www.instagram.com/alexis_yebra/

Café Rivarola is also a venue for a variety of cultural activities.

In December 2023, together with the bookstore Asunto Impreso https://www.instagram.com/asuntoimpreso/ participated in the presentation of the book “El arte está en casa” by Mariela Ivanier https://www.instagram.com/marielaivanier/ accompanied by the exhibition “La escritura imposible” by artist Alexis Yebra https://www.instagram.com/alexis_yebra/.

Durante el 2024 se dieron cita en el Café Rivarola diferentes actividades. En marzo tuvo lugar el coloquio participativo sobre el Año nuevo Astrológico con conversaciones sobre los signos zodiacales. En mayo el Dr. Daniel Martínez Rubio impartió una charla sobre Ulises en la Divina Comedia.

También en mayo se desarrolló la muestra «Lágrima en Jarrito», con obras de más de quince mujeres ilustradoras, con la temática del café como eje de las obras con la curaduría de La Watson https://www.instagram.com/soylawatson/

During 2024 different activities took place at Café Rivarola. In March there was a participative colloquium on the Astrological New Year with talks on the zodiacal signs. In May, Dr. Daniel Martínez Rubio gave a talk on Ulysses in the Divine Comedy.

Also in May, the exhibition “Lágrima en Jarrito” was held, with works by more than fifteen women illustrators, with the theme of coffee as the focus of the works, curated by La Watson https://www.instagram.com/soylawatson/.

En julio se presentó libro «Pequeño cuaderno de margaritas y otras flores silvestres» de la artista Mariana Jasper https://www.instagram.com/play_mai/ junto con la librería Asunto Impreso.

«Puccini en el Rivarola» un ciclo de charlas y música en vivo con la participación de tenores, sopranos y barítonos del elenco estable del Teatro Argentino de la Plata y del Teatro Colón fue otro de los eventos en el Café Rivarola.

En octubre la artista María Lumerman https://www.instagram.com/marialumerman/ presentó su obra «El espacio que habitamos».

Durante noviembre, la artista Marga Fabbri https://www.instagram.com/margafabbri/participó pintando las vidrieras y espejos del local con la temática Cúpulas Porteñas y Navidad.

Además durante todo el año tuvieron lugar exposiciones de diferentes artistas y tango y jazz en vivo.

In July, the book “Pequeño cuaderno de margaritas y otras flores silvestres” by artist Mariana Jasper https://www.instagram.com/play_mai/ was presented in collaboration with the bookstore Asunto Impreso.

“Puccini at the Rivarola”, a series of talks and live music with the participation of tenors, sopranos and baritones of the Teatro Argentino de la Plata and the Teatro Colón was another of the events at the Café Rivarola.

In October, artist María Lumerman https://www.instagram.com/marialumerman/ presented her work “El espacio que habitamos” (The space we inhabit).

During November, the artist Marga Fabbri https://www.instagram.com/margafabbri/ participated by painting the windows and mirrors of the store with the theme “Cúpulas Porteñas” and Christmas.

Also, throughout the year there were exhibitions of different artists and live tango and jazz.
