En las publicaciones anteriores estuve insistiendo en lo bella que es la primavera y describiendo lo fantástico que es el tiempo en Buenos Aires. Sin embargo recibí algunos mensajes de los alérgicos que me dijeron que para ellos esta época del año es una tortura 😦 . Y esto tiene una explicación. Buenos Aires tiene una gran variedad de árboles y una de ellas son los platanus hispánica que largan una pelusa amarilla bastante molesta que a muchos les causa estornudos y picazones. Nada es perfecto.

In the previous posts I have been insisting on how beautiful spring is and describing how fantastic the weather is in Buenos Aires. However I received some messages from allergy sufferers who told me that for them this time of the year is torture 😦 . And this has an explanation. Buenos Aires has a great variety of trees and one of them is the platanus hispanica which gives off a very annoying yellow fuzz that causes sneezing and itching for many people. Nothing is perfect.

Entre las cosas que no me gustan de esta ciudad me olvidé de mencionar a las palomas y justamente hoy vino una al balcón con un reclamo de atención 🙂 A Juzgar por el tamaño parecía un pavo para Thanksgiving 😉

Among the things I don’t like about this city I forgot to mention the pigeons and just today one came to the balcony with a demand for attention 🙂 Judging by the size it looked like a turkey for Thanksgiving 😉

Dejando de lado lo negativo, pasemos a las cosas lindas. Lo que amo de las ciudades es que siempre algo está pasando a nivel cultural. Hoy fuimos a FOLA (Fototeca Latinoamericana)y nos encontramos con una muestra fotografica llamada Lumiere Photo que nos encantó. Una combinación de fotos antiguas de Argentina y Estados Unidos en blanco y negro mezcladas con animación de video.

Leaving aside the negative, let’s move on to the nice things. What I love about cities is that there is always something going on culturally. Today we went to FOLA (Fototeca Latinoamericana) and came across a photo exhibit called Lumiere Photo that we loved. A combination of old black and white photos from Argentina and United States mixed with video animation.

Supongo que porque es un fin de semana largo mucha gente no está en la ciudad así que disfrutamos de un almuerzo frugal en una vereda muy transitada durante la semana pero que hoy era un placer por lo tranquila 🙂

I guess because it’s a long weekend a lot of people are out of town so we enjoyed a frugal lunch on a busy sidewalk during the week but today it was a pleasure because it was so quiet 🙂

La noche del domingo terminó con uno de los rituales que tenemos Barnaby y yo con mis hijas: gin and tonics , juegos de mesa y obviamente un buen fuego para asado con estilo argentino 😉
