El  fileteado porteño nace en Buenos Aires a fines del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX en las fabricas de carrocerías. Es el arte popular de Buenos Aires y fue nombrado como patrimonio cultural e inmaterial de la humanidad por la UNESCO en diciembre del año 2015.

Realicé muestras colectivas e individuales en diferentes espacios culturales. Un día me encontraba pintando un escaparate en una tienda cuando se acercó un buen hombre y me dijo: «lo que estas haciendo es muy bonito» … cuando me di vuelta era Manino, un fileteador de mi barrio, Valentin Alsina, a quien conocía sólo por sus trabajos . Le dije que  admiraba mucho lo que hacía y trataba de imitarlo. Enseguida me dio varios consejos que me ayudaron a entender muchas de mis inquietudes 🙂  . Eso fue allá por el año 1989 y desde ese entonces nunca dejé de pintar.

«Porteño» filleting was born in Buenos Aires at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century in the bodywork factories. It is the popular art of Buenos Aires and was named as a cultural and intangible heritage of humanity by Unesco in December 2015.

I made collective and individual exhibitions in different cultural spaces. One day I was painting a shop window when a good man approached me and said: «what you are doing is very nice» … when I turned around it was Manino, a filleter from my neighborhood, Valentin Alsina, whom I knew only from his work. I told him how much I admired his art and that I tried to imitate him. Right away he gave me several tips that helped me to understand this fantastic art 🙂 . That was back in 1989 and since then I have never stopped painting.

La técnica la fui aprendiendo con los años, aún hoy sigo encontrando nuevas formas y dando riqueza a los nuevos trabajos que realizo. Esto de pintar nunca termina de aprenderse y eso me motiva a seguir insistiendo.

Pinto en mi taller-casa y no hay un momento u horario, pero si tengo que elegir, me gusta la noche donde el silencio me genera una tranquilidad absoluta.

I was learning the technique over the years, even today I continue to find new ways and give richness to the new jobs that I do. This painting never ends learning and that motivates me to continue insisting.

I paint in my home studio and there is no time or schedule, but if I have to choose, I like the night where silence generates absolute tranquility.

Siempre estoy estudiando diferentes técnicas y no sólo de fileteado. Tuve la suerte de estudiar con grandes maestros del oficio como José Espinosa, Adrian Clara,  Elvio Gervasi y Alfredo Genovese . Con cada uno recibí no sólo un gran aprendizaje en lo artístico si no también una enseñanza de vida.

Cuando pinto y  también  cuando hago música lo que siento es mucha felicidad, armonía y tranquilidad … es como si el mundo dejara de rodar 🙂

La música también es parte de mi vida y lo más importante, es que tengo la suerte de compartirla con mi hijo. Tocar juntos es algo que no puedo explicar con palabras, componer e interpretar mis propias canciones me produce una alegría muy parecida a cuando pinto si me das a elegir elijo ambas expresiones y lo seguiré haciendo mientras pueda 🙂

I am always studying different techniques and not just filleting. I was lucky enough to study with great masters such as José Espinosa, Adrian Clara, Elvio Gervasi and Alfredo Genovese. With each one I received not only a great learning in art but also a life teaching.

When I paint and also when I make music, I feel a lot of happiness, harmony and tranquility … it is as if the world would stop 🙂

Music is also part of my life and the most important thing is that I am lucky to share it with my son. Playing together is something that I cannot explain in words, composing and interpreting my own songs gives me as much joy as painting, and if I had to choose, I choose both expressions and I will continue doing it while I can 🙂

Las obras siempre están a la venta  aunque a veces es dificil desprenderse de ellas 😦  pero el bolsillo lo necesita.. También hago trabajos a pedido y hoy en día estoy restaurando carros antiguos que es donde empezó el arte del fileteado. My works are always for sale although sometimes it is difficult to get rid of them 😦 but sometimes I need the money .. I also do jobs on demand and today I am restoring old cars ,the art of filleting began with them.
