El viernes fue un día muy movido. Conocí personalmente a Georgina Matich @pierina.cuadernos que vive en Rosario y estuvo de visita por Buenos Aires. Tal vez sepas la historia, porque la conté en redes; la manera en que nos conocimos fue muy particular. Una persona de Manzanita, Oregon al saber que era Argentina (porque escuch´´o el acento que tengo cuando hablo en inglés y algo que tenes que saber es que cuando esto pasa pienso en la canción de Sting: «hear my accent when I talk…» perdón pero pienso en eso 😉 ) me dijo que conocía a otra Argentina y me dio su contacto. Georgi fue una de mis Amigas Artistas y por esto y por razones que son imposibles de explicar en los vínculos humanos nos fuimos haciendo amigas 🙂

Lo interesante fue que al vernos la charla fluyó como si nos conociéramos de toda la vida, caminamos por la zona de Tribunales y nos prometimos nuevos encuentros. ¡Qué lindo es poder abrazarse con gente que veíamos a través de una cámara!

Friday was a very busy day. I met in person Georgina Matich @pierina.cuadernos who lives in Rosario and was visiting Buenos Aires. Maybe you know the story, because I told it in networks; the way we met was very particular. A person from Manzanita, Oregon when she knew I was from Argentina (because of my accent when I speak in English and something you have to know is that when this happens I think of Sting’s song: «hear my accent when I talk…» sorry but I think of that 😉 ) she told me that she knew another Argentinian that made art for her store and gave me her contact. Georgi was one of my Artistic Friends and because of that and for other reasons impossible to explain about the human bonds we became friends 🙂

The interesting thing was that when we met the conversation flowed as if we had known each other all our lives, we walked around the Tribunales area and promised each other new encounters. How nice to be able to hug people we saw through a camera!

Mi dia continuó con almuerzo con Sofi, una de mis hijas en el barrio donde solía vivir: Chacarita. Me llamó la atención cómo cambió la calle Jorge Newbery, con bares y espacios culturales que parecen hacerle la competencia a Palermo. Es increíble cómo el barrio creció desde el 2005 cuando fuimos a vivir ahí 🙂

My day continued with lunch with Sofi, one of my daughters in the neighborhood where I used to live: Chacarita. I was struck by how Jorge Newbery street has changed, with bars and cultural spaces that seem to compete with Palermo (one of the most touristic neighborhoods in Buenos Aires). It’s amazing how the neighborhood has grown since 2005 when we went to live there 🙂

En Instagram me gusta seguir cuentas que me aportan algo, y Karina con @historiasenverde fue una de mis preferidas porque me fue mostrando los árboles de Argentina; tanto los de Buenos Aires como los de Tucumán; mientras estaba en Estados Unidos. El viernes por la noche se realizó en Palermo la ceremonia de Hanami del jacarandá. Es una experiencia japonesa de observación de la caída de las flores del árbol en forma natural. La ceremonia estuvo a cargo de @cristinacoroleu y eligieron la noche para hacerla. Eramos pocos, prepararon algunos farolitos de papel, lo cual hizo al evento algo más íntimo y hablaron de Carlos Thays https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Thays quien fue el diseñador de muchos de los parques de la ciudad y de la importancia de cuidar a nuestros árboles y a nuestro planeta. Como así también la de tomarse un minuto para parar y observar lo que tenemos a nuestro alrededor.

On Instagram I like to follow accounts that bring me something, and Karina with @historiasenverde was one of my favorites because she was showing me the trees of Argentina; both those of Buenos Aires and Tucumán; while I was in the United States. On Friday night the Hanami ceremony of the jacaranda tree was held in Palermo. It is a Japanese experience of observing the falling of the tree’s flowers in a natural way. The ceremony was in charge of @cristinacoroleu and they chose the night to do it. We were few, they prepared some paper lanterns, which made the event more intimate and they talked about Carlos Thays

Luego caminando hacia casa pasamos por Fayer un restaurant de comida israelí combinado con parrilla argentina, donde tuvimos no sólo una muy buena cena sino también la suerte de encontrar una mesa un viernes por la noche 🙂

Then walking home we passed by Fayer, an Israeli food restaurant combined with Argentinean grill, where we had not only a very good dinner but also the luck to find a table on a Friday night 🙂
