Sábado soleado y nos fuimos hacia la zona de norte de la Capital; específicamente a San Isidro o sea que para ser exactos hoy las crónicas no serán tan porteñas 😉

Sunny Saturday and we went to the northern area of the Capital; specifically to San Isidro, so to be exact today the chronicles will not be so porteñas 😉

Hace mucho tiempo que tenía ganas de visitar Villa Ocampo, la casa de verano de la familia de Victoria Ocampo y lugar donde la escritora pasó sus últimos años de vida. Confieso, con un poco de pudor, que aún no leí sus libros pero si los de sus amigos: Jorge Luis Borges, Adolfo Bioy Casares, Albert Camus y hasta de su hermana Silvina Ocampo 🙂

I wanted for a long time to visit Villa Ocampo, the summer home of Victoria Ocampo’s family and the place where the writer spent the last years of her life. I confess, with some embarrassment, that I have not yet read her books, but I have read those of her friends: Jorge Luis Borges, Adolfo Bioy Casares, Albert Camus and even her sister Silvina Ocampo 🙂

Victoria Ocampo fue una mujer que rompió con las tradiciones y mandatos impuestos para las mujeres en la década del 20. Viajaba sola, manejaba un convertible, usaba pantalones, era feminista y fundó la revista Sur un espacio donde se publicaban a autores argentinos e internacionales.

Esta preciosa casa con sus muebles y la colección de libros, Victoria se la donó a la UNESCO y ahora es un museo con visitas guiadas y donde además podes ir a tomar el té. El precio de la entrada es muy accesible y te recomiendo que reserves antes de ir, realmente vale la pena darse una vuelta por el lugar.

Victoria Ocampo was a woman who broke with the traditions and mandates imposed on women in the 1920s. She traveled alone, drove a convertible, wore pants, was a feminist and founded Sur magazine, a space where Argentine and international authors were published.

This beautiful house with its furniture and book collection, Victoria donated it to UNESCO and now it is a museum with guided tours and where you can also go for tea. The entrance fee is very affordable and I recommend you to book before you go, it is really worth a visit.

Dos cosas más pasaron durante este fin de semana que si bien no están relacionadas con paseos tienen que ver con la nueva manera de ver mi vida y en estos momentos de documentarla. Formo parte de dos grupos con los que me conecté durante este último año y son los responsables de nutrir mi curiosidad 🙂 . Aunque lo mejor de ambos, es la calidad humana, tanto de quienes los coordinan como de los participantes: gente talentosa, respetuosa y generosa, valores que a veces en un mundo tan alocado, están quedando de lado.

Two more things happened during this weekend that although they are not related to visits have to do with the new way of seeing my life and in these moments of documenting it. I am part of two groups from this last year and they are responsible for nurturing my curiosity 🙂 . Although the best thing about both of them is the human quality, both of those who coordinate them and of the participants: talented, respectful and generous people, values that sometimes in such a crazy world, are being left aside.

El primer grupo es @labaumhaus de Carla Bonomini @minicarbono en el refugio del bosque, como ella lo denominó, aquí encontré un grupo de personas creativas que son de una generación diferente a la mía y donde aprendo muchísimo 🙂 Tenemos misiones mensuales donde una temática es el disparador para crear y hacer puestas en común, acá te dejo las fotos. Lo maravilloso es que en este grupo nos permitimos ser vulnerables y nos damos apoyo en todo lo que podemos 🙂

The first group is @labaumhaus of Carla Bonomini @minicarbono in the refuge of the forest, as she called it, I found a group of creative people who are of a different generation than mine and where I learn lots 🙂 We have monthly missions where a theme is the trigger to create and share, here are the photos. The wonderful thing is that in this group we allow ourselves to be vulnerable and support each other as much as we can 🙂

Mi otro grupo es El Faro y está a cargo del escritor @pedromairal . Nos juntamos todos los meses con él y una invitada o invitado que en general son escritores. Pedro, que es una persona súper generosa nos propone lecturas, o ver películas, nos escucha si hacemos comentarios y ayer dijo una de esas frases que le dio mucho sentido a esto que estoy haciendo: «quien puede mirar el mundo no se aburre nunca más». Y casualmente ayer fue invitado Agustín Ferrando de Tiranos Temblad. Alguien que desde Uruguay nos muestra que el mundo puede mirarse de otra manera.

My other group is El Faro and is run by the writer @pedromairal. We get together every month with him and a guest who are generally writers. Pedro, who is a very generous person, suggests us readings, or watch movies, he is very good listening to us. Yesterday he said one of those phrases that gave a lot of sense to what I’m doing: «who can look at the world never gets bored again». The guest invited was Agustín Ferrando from Tiranos Temblad, someone from Uruguay who shows us that the world can be seen in a different way.

Pero el Faro no se limita a esos encuentros mensuales, con los participantes tenemos un grupo de WhatsApp donde hay un constante intercambio de lecturas, actividades culturales y buena energía.

Estoy muy agradecida de estas pequeñas y grandes cosas que hacen que mi vida sea más agradable y que siempre tenga en mente algún que otro panda project para divertirme y hacer sonreir a los demás 🙂

Te invito a que vos también encuentres gente que te haga bien y mires más lo que tenes alrededor, mientras que terminaba de escribir esto, mire por la ventana y vi este bellísimo cielo 😉

But el Faro is not limited to these monthly meetings, with the participants we have a WhatsApp group where there is a constant exchange of readings, cultural activities and good energy.

I am very grateful for these little and big things that make my life more enjoyable and that I always have in mind some other panda project to have fun and make others smile 🙂

I invite you to also find people who make you feel good and look more at what you have around you, while I was finishing writing this, I looked out the window and saw this beautiful sky 😉
