Como verás yo sigo por Buenos Aires con días de calor agobiante, los cuales me ponen de muy mal humor (siento que es importante que conozcas también el lado B de estos posteos 😉 ) De cualquier manera, cada vez que tengo que hacer alguna actividad, me pongo en modo atento en lugar de modo de orto (expresión muy argentina que significa malhumorado pero casi en el borde del estallido 🙂 ) y salgo con mi libreta de notas y cámara a recorrer la ciudad.

Y lo que te voy a mostrar hoy es arte callejero por el barrio de Colegiales.

As you can notice I’m still in Buenos Aires with days of oppressive heat, which put me in a very bad mood (I feel it’s important that you also know the B side of these posts 😉 ) Anyway, every time I have to do some activity, I put myself in attentive mode instead of orto mode (very argentinian expression that means grumpy but almost on the verge of exploding 🙂 ) and go out with my notebook and camera to walk around the city.

And what I’m going to show you today is street art in Colegiales neighborhood.

Es increíble cuánto cambió la fisonomía de este barrio, como otros en Capital, con la aparición de una gran cantidad de graffitis y murales en diversas paredes de la ciudad.

Lo interesante de este paseo fue que salí buscando específicamente los dos murales que te muestro a continuación: Toros «Teta e Salta» realizado por Franco Fasoli y Gaucho a caballo, pintado por el británico Jim Vision y en el recorrido me encontré con todos los demás que te estoy mostrando. Una maravilla.

It is incredible how much the physiognomy of this neighborhood, like others in the Capital, has changed with the appearance of a large amount of graffiti and murals on various walls of the city.

The interesting thing about this tour was that I went out specifically looking for the two murals that I show you below: Toros»Teta e Salta»painted by Franco Fasoli and Gaucho a caballo painted by the British artist Jim Vision, and on the way I found all the others that I am showing you. Amazing.

Los murales siempre me llamaron la atención porque me parece un trabajo enorme, que en general debe hacerse en pocos días y a la intemperie con los inconvenientes que esto puede provocar.

The murals always caught my attention because it seems to me a huge job, which generally has to be done in a few days and outdoors with the inconveniences that this can cause.

Lo que me gusta y admiro de estos artistas es que dejan obras abiertas para que todo el que pasa las vea y disfrute; y otra cosa interesante es que las mismas generalmente están relacionadas con alguna temática social, histórica o momento cultural en particular.

Como todo, ya sea en arte o en la vida, hay cosas que te gustan más y otras menos; de cualquier manera creo que ninguna te deja indiferente, nada pasa inadvertido, algo siempre llama la atención; siempre encontrás nuevos detalles al volver a mirarlos y hasta diferentes interpretaciones.

What I like and admire about these artists is that they leave their works open for everyone to see and enjoy; and another interesting thing is that they are generally related to some social or historical theme or cultural moment in particular.

Like everything, whether in art or in life, there are things that you like more and others less; in any case, I believe that nothing leaves you indifferent, nothing goes unnoticed, something always catches your attention; you always find new details when you look at them again and even different interpretations.

Mi paseo continuó por el Mercado de las Pulgas, un lugar donde podes encontrar cosas usadas, vintage, un lugar ideal para aquellos que tienen paciencia y les gusta restaurar muebles, encontrar tacitas para armar un juego de te o simplemente, como me pasó a mi, escuchar un poco de música brasileña en vinilo en lo que en mi infancia llamábamos «el combinado» y era un lujo tener en las casas. ¡Cómo cambiaron los tiempos! 🙂

My walk continued at the Mercado de las Pulgas, a place where you can find used things, vintage, an ideal place for those who have patience and like to restore furniture, find cups to make a tea set or simply, as it happened to me, listen to some Brazilian music on vinyl in what in my childhood we called «el combinado» and it was a luxury to have in our homes. How times have changed! 🙂
