Cuando empecé a escribir el año pasado las Crónicas porteñas, el motivo principal fue ver a la ciudad de Buenos Aires con ojos de turista, luego de no visitarla por un año debido a la pandemia 😦

Cuando viajo a otras ciudades disfruto de tomar el micro turístico (en caso de tenerlo) porque me permite tener un pantallazo del lugar con esta posibilidad de subir y bajar donde quiera. Entonces pensé que podría ser divertido hacerlo también en Buenos Aires 😉 . Compré mi ticket online, elegí donde subir y acá está la crónica de ese día.

Hoy te invito a recorrer la ciudad en «bondi» 😉

When I started writing the Crónicas porteñas last year, the main reason was to see the city of Buenos Aires with the eyes of a tourist, after not visiting it for a year due to the pandemic 😦

When I travel to other cities I enjoy taking the tourist bus (in case I have one) because it allows me to have a snapshot of the place with this possibility of hopping on and off wherever I want. So I thought it could be fun to do it in Buenos Aires too 😉 . I bought my ticket online, chose where to get on and here is the report of that day.

Today I invite you to travel around the city by «bondi» 😉 (This is the way we porteños call the buses).

Mi viaje comenzó y terminó en la Plaza Cortázar en el barrio de Palermo y desde ahí fui paseando por diferentes lugares: otras zonas de Palermo, Recoleta, Microcentro, Congreso y Monserrat hasta llegar a San Telmo, donde elegí bajar para ver qué tal es un día de semana cuando la feria de artesanos no está en funcionamiento.

My trip began and ended at Plaza Cortázar in the Palermo neighborhood and from there I wandered around different places: other areas of Palermo, Recoleta, Downtown, Congreso and Monserrat until I reached San Telmo, where I chose to go down to see what it’s like on a weekday when the artisans’ fair is not in operation.

¿Hay manera de ser más turista que en un micro turístico de cualquier ciudad? Creo que no 🙂 y si sos de Buenos Aires y no lo probaste te invito a que lo hagas porque es un gran paseo. Creo que hay dos cosas a tener en cuenta: el clima porque es mucho mejor ir en la parte alta y abierta del bus y que no haya cortes en las calles, cosa que lamentablemente ese día ocurrió yendo por la zona del centro de la ciudad, de cualquier manera se pudo continuar con el recorrido con algunos desvíos.

Is there any way to be more of a tourist than in a tourist bus of any city? I think not 🙂 and if you are from Buenos Aires and have not tried it I invite you to do it because it is a great ride. I think there are two things to take into account: the weather because it is much better to go in the high and open part of the bus and that there are no road cuts, which unfortunately happened that day going through the downtown area, anyway you could continue with the tour with some detours.

En San Telmo decidí dejarme llevar por sus calles y tenía claro que quería almorzar en el Mercado donde encontré un lugar especial donde preparan choripanes 😛 algo que, como los sanguches de miga, son las cosas que necesito comer cuando estoy por la ciudad para sentirme Argentina 🙂 .

Otro lugar en mi lista de visitas era la Galería de arte Tienda Quorum @tiendaquorum un espacio donde es posible encontrar el trabajo de diferentes artistas latinoamericanos y lo mejor fue conocer a Santiago Carrera @santi_photo con quien conversamos sobre arte y la vida en general. Hermosa experiencia 🙂 ¿Lo tendremos como Amigo Artista?

In San Telmo I decided to let myself be carried away by its streets and I knew I wanted to have lunch at the Mercado where I found a special place where they prepare choripanes (bread and chorizo) 😛 something that, like crumb sandwich, are the things I need to eat when I’m in the city to feel Argentinean 🙂 .

Another place on my list of visits was the Tienda Quorum Art Gallery @tiendaquorum a place where it is possible to find the work of different Latin American artists and the best thing was meeting Santiago Carrera @santi_photo with whom we talked about art and life in general. Nice experience 🙂 Will we have him as an Artistic Friend?

De regreso en el micro el recorrido continuó por Parque Lezama, La Boca, Puerto Madero, la Reserva Ecológica, Retiro para terminar mi paseo en Palermo.

Back on the bus, the tour continued through Parque Lezama, La Boca, Puerto Madero, the Ecological Reserve, Retiro and ended in Palermo.

Una vez allí caminé por sus calles, me sorprendieron unas chicas @chini.arte y @ycoh.yas pintando un mural para una casa de ropas, tomé una merienda algo que siempre extraño de Argentina y volví a mi casa, como dice el tango, silbando bajito luego de un día maravilloso disfrutando de mi ciudad 🙂

Once there I walked through the streets, I was surprised by some girls @chini.arte and @ycoh.yas painting a mural for a clothing store, I had a merienda something I always miss from Argentina and I went back home, as the tango says, whistling after a wonderful day enjoying my city 🙂
