Conocí a Patricia @patrivalli en noviembre de 2022 durante el taller ‘Mirando Miradores’ @mirarmiradores dictado por Marga Fabbri en el Edificio La Inmobiliaria en Buenos Aires.
Durante las presentaciones, Patricia comentó que era artista y que en diciembre estaría presentando una de sus obras en la muestra organizada por mis Amigos Artistas @paula_pons y @alfredosegatori en Lunática Artes Visuales @lunaticaartesvisuales.
Fue una sorpresa agradable descubrir tantas coincidencias, o como me gusta llamarlas sincronías, en un solo encuentro 🙂
I met Patricia @patrivalli in November 2022 during the workshop ‘Mirando Miradores’ @mirarmiradores given by Marga Fabbri at Edificio La Inmobiliaria in Buenos Aires.
During the introductions, Patricia commented that she was an artist and that in December she would be presenting one of her pieces of art in the show organized by my Artistic Friends @paula_pons and @alfredosegatori at Lunática Artes Visuales @lunaticaartesvisuales.
It was a pleasant surprise to discover so many coincidences, or as I like to call them synchronicities, in a single encounter 🙂
Nos encontramos en Lunática en una calurosa jornada y como ya estábamos tan cerca de fin de año, decidimos volver a vernos para el proyecto de Amigas Artistas en enero del 2023 en su taller.
We met at Lunática on a hot day and as we were so close to the end of the year, we decided to meet again for the Artistic Friends project in January 2023 at their workshop.
Esto es algo que le agradezco profundamente porque tuve la oportunidad de conocer no solamente su espacio y su obra creativa, sino además una parte de su trabajo que no suele ser público y forma parte de procesos de desarrollo y exploración personal, quizás desconocido para muchas personas. Pequeños y grandes detalles que me llenaron de alegría 🤗
This is something I am deeply grateful to her because I had the opportunity to know not only her space and her creative artwork, but also a part of her work that is not usually public and is part of processes of personal development and exploration, perhaps unknown to many people. Small and big details that filled me with joy 🤗.
Durante la conversación Patricia me comentó que es pedagoga y pintora. En artes visuales se formó durante muchos años en los talleres de pintores reconocidos como Ariel Mlynarzewicz y Graciela Genovés con quien continúa. Realizó diversos cursos de historia del arte, escultura, cerámica, collage y estudios de curaduría.
Si bien Patricia ha participado en varias muestras a lo largo de los años (más de cuarenta exposiciones colectivas e individuales), una que disfrutó especialmente fue «Metáforas del lazo» junto a Manuel Rubio. Esta exhibición tuvo lugar en el Salón de los Pasos Perdidos de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Buenos Aires entre julio y agosto de 2022, donde presentó su trabajo realizado durante la pandemia.
La serie Instantes fue parte de ese proyecto realizado en óleo sobre chapa que reúnen su oficio y el material de trabajo de su pareja. Como Patricia dice «Una singular y simbólica fusión amorosa»

During the conversation Patricia told me that she is a pedagogue and painter. In visual arts she studied for many years in the workshops of renowned painters such as Ariel Mlynarzewicz and Graciela Genovés, with whom she continues to work. She took several courses in art history, sculpture, ceramics, collage and curatorial studies.
Although Patricia has participated in several exhibitions over the years (more than forty group and solo exhibitions), one that she particularly enjoyed was «Metáforas del lazo» with Manuel Rubio. This exhibition took place at the Salón de los Pasos Perdidos of the University of Buenos Aires Law School between July and August 2022, where she presented her work done during the pandemic.
The series Instantes (Moments) was part of this project made in oil on sheet metal that brings together her craft and her partner’s work material. As Patricia says «A singular and symbolic fusion of love».

También Patricia me comentó sobre otros proyectos que surgieron durante la pandemia, en esos momentos de tanta incertidumbre a nivel mundial.
Uno que me llamó particularmente la atención fue : «El mundo está hecho bolsa» (una expresión argentina y quizás algo anticuada para decir que está roto)
Ella utilizó la expresión de manera literal y me mostró una enorme cantidad de bolsas intervenidas con su arte. Patricia me recordó que eran tiempos donde no se podía ir en busca de materiales entonces improvisó con lo que tenía en su casa: bolsas de cartón, óleos, pinceles y yo agrego muchísimo talento :). La creatividad está en todas parte y muchas veces más cerca de lo que una cree 😉
Patricia also told me about other projects that arose during the pandemic, in those moments of such uncertainty worldwide.
The project «El mundo está hecho bolsa» refers to an Argentine expression about something that is broken, in this case the world. What is interesting in the play on words is that «bolsa» means bag and that is why Patricia painted cardboard bags during the quarantine. Sorry but it´s not easy to translate expressions 🙂
She used the expression literally and showed me a huge amount of bags decorated with her art. Patricia reminded me that those were times when you could not go in search of materials so she improvised with what she had at home: cardboard bags, oils, brushes and I add a lot of talent :). Creativity is everywhere and many times closer than you think 😉
Tuvimos tiempo para conversar sobre libros y lecturas y durante esa charla Patricia recordó un libro «Enciclopedia de la mujer», que había pertenecido a su abuela y que básicamente en un volumen de alrededor de cuatrocientas páginas, se enfocaba en enseñarle a las mujeres a cómo ser buenas amas de casa, visión cultural de la mujer de principios del siglo pasado. 😦 temática más que chocante y desactualizada en estos tiempos.
Sin embargo, Patricia les dio un buen uso a esas páginas pintando sobre ellas a escritoras y artistas, creando una verdadera obra de arte y demostrando que las mujeres tienen un lugar y sentido en la vida tan amplio como ellas quieran (estamos para algo más que llevar adelante las tareas domésticas de una casa.)
We had time to talk about books and reading and during that talk Patricia remembered a book «Encyclopedia of women», which had belonged to her grandmother and that basically in a volume of about four hundred pages, focused on teaching women how to be good housewives, cultural vision of women of the beginning of the last century 😦 Shocking and outdated subject matter in this day and age.
However, Patricia made good use of those pages by painting women writers and artists on them, creating a true work of art and demonstrating that women have a place and meaning in life as broad as they want it to be (we are for more than just carrying out the domestic duties of a household).
Patricia es un claro ejemplo de que las mujeres podemos seguir creando y explorando durante toda la vida (incluso después de los 50) Su continua curiosidad para experimentar con diferentes materiales, su búsqueda de nuevos aprendizajes, la promoción de proyectos culturales y su energía contagiosa son sólo algunas de sus muchas cualidades. El uso del arte para dar visibilidad a otras mujeres o el proyecto Jubilenial (del que ya te comentaré en otra oportunidad) son ejemplos de su compromiso social.

Patricia is a clear example that women can continue to create and explore throughout their lives (even after 50) Her continuous curiosity to experiment with different materials, her search for new learning, her promotion of cultural projects and her contagious energy are just some of her many qualities. The use of art to give visibility to other women or the Jubilenial project (which I will tell you about another time) are examples of her social commitment.
I deeply appreciate her time, talks, laughs and dedication to the writing of this article and I look forward to collaborating with her in future projects 🙂
